UV Coatings

UV Coating is an extremely glossy, shiny, and liquid coating that is placed to the surface of printed paper and cured with ultraviolet radiation on a printing press or special machines. Such coatings are perfect for use commonly in print products such as hand-out sheets, postcards, business cards, presentation folders, and catalogs for a shiny finish and great abrasion resistance.

These coatings have special properties, making colors, text, and other elements pop out while increasing the clarity and attracting the viewers. The main purpose of these coatings is to protect against scratches, tears, and fingerprints.

UV Coating is applied as a liquid, then subjected to Ultraviolet light, which binds and cures it instantaneously. It can be spread over the whole printed item (called Flooding) or as a Spot coating to highlight certain parts. Furthermore, UV Coating comes in several sheen levels, with high gloss being the most common.
