Water-Based Adhesives or commonly known as Waterborne Adhesives are some of the very common and environmentally friendly adhesives. These adhesives are not only economical but also free from any volatile organic compounds (VOCs). For the application of such adhesives, they have to be mixed with water.

Its strength is attained only after the water from the glue line is either evaporated or absorbed by the substrate. If, in case one is making the use of such adhesive in the substrate where water cannot be evaporated, use only a thin coat of adhesive and allow it to naturally dry and then activate it by spraying little water.

Water-based adhesives are made from a blend of water, polymers, and additives and are suitable for both porous and non-porous substrates. These adhesives can be made in the form of solutions or powders. These can be used in aerospace, automotive, HVAC, appliance, transportation, industrial assembly, marine, filtration, panel manufacturing, lamination, woodworking, and textile industries.
